The team:

During your time at Bank of America, you will be working within one of our trading businesses as part of the quantitative strategies and data group. In your role you will contribute directly to the firm by helping us serve our clients and manage risk.  You will be on active projects in the fast-paced environment of the trading floor.

 

Programme Overview

Our summer internship programme is designed to offer you an opportunity to apply your quantitative skills in an exciting and fast-moving environment. You will gain first-hand experience of kinds of problems the trading business faces, and the vital role analytical skills play in solving them.

 

Training and Development

Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the programme in addition to on the job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.

 

Responsibilities:

As a summer analyst, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

 

  • Creating pricing and valuation models to understand and manage the risks of complex derivative products.
  • Applying advanced statistical and data science techniques to analyze market dynamics and client behavior.
  • Developing models and strategies that the business use to make trading decisions.
  • Studying, implementing, and improving electronic trading algorithms.
  • Building tools to improve the efficiency and profitability of the trading business.
  • Analyzing and managing the risks of the array of financial instruments the firm manages.

 

Eligibility

  • Candidates are required to be pursuing either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation timeframe between September 2024 – July 2025
  • On track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
  • Must be available to join the programme from June until August 2024 

 

What we are looking for

 

Essential:

  • An understanding of programming (preferably in an object-oriented language such as Python, C++, C# or Java)
  • Expertise in relevant technical areas which could include any of; statistical/data analysis, financial mathematics and stochastic calculus, probability theory, numerical analysis, optimization techniques, machine learning, high performance numerical computing, compilers and programming languages, Monte Carlo simulation.

Desired:

  • Great communication skills with an ability to convey complex ideas clearly to a diverse audience in both spoken and written form.
