Job Description & Program Overview

The Global Compliance and Operational Risk Development Analyst program will introduce you to Bank of America Merrill Lynch and the Global Risk Management (GRM) group. GRM, which includes Global Compliance and Operational Risk, is an enterprise control function that provides independent risk management for Bank of America. GRM’s function is to ensure the company pursues its responsible growth strategy through strong risk management practices while deploying its capital appropriately to support business activities and maximize shareholder value. GRM oversees the company’s governance and strategy for global risk management, including relationships with key regulators and supervisory institutions worldwide.

Our Global Compliance and Operational Risk Analyst program offers you the opportunity to develop an understanding of the framework and management of compliance and operational risk across a range of areas. As an Analyst, you will be provided with the opportunity to work on various tasks necessary for the management of compliance and operational risk in EMEA as you build a strong platform to launch your career: Our culture of accountability and compliance requires that all employees comply with all relevant laws, regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies and procedures.

As an Analyst, your primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing and maintaining appropriate risk management principles and policies, internal controls and processes designed to identify and mitigate risks while delivering results in an ever changing dynamic environment
  • Establishing and regularly updating a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, measure, monitor and control all aspects of risk
  • Ensuring that appropriate and effective risk management processes are in place throughout the company
  • Advising on regulatory interpretations while providing training, assessing regulatory developments and implementing policies
  • Promoting a culture across the company where risk management is embraced as this is vital to achieving responsible growth

 

Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the program in addition to on-the-job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong A-Level grades and on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
  • Applications are accepted from a diverse range of degree disciplines such as the arts and humanities, as well as numerically focused subjects such as economics and mathematics.
  • A master’s degree may also be beneficial for some roles
  • Fluency in English is essential and a second European language may also be required for some roles
  • Team-working, leadership and problem solving skills & analytical skills, are key qualities along with the proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with a variety of people, while communicating effectively and having professional presence and judgment of risk management
  • Has a drive for operational excellence and a commitment to achieving sustainable results
  • Demonstrates integrity and ethics by earning other’s trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions
