Global Risk Development Summer Analyst Program Overview:

The Global Risk Development Summer Analyst Program will introduce you to Bank of America and the Global Risk Management (GRM) group. GRM is an enterprise control function that provides independent risk management for Bank of America. GRM’s function is to ensure the company pursues its responsible growth strategy through strong risk management practices while deploying its capital appropriately to support business activities and maximize shareholder value. GRM oversees the company’s governance and strategy for global risk management, including relationships with key regulators and supervisory institutions worldwide.

Intern Program Overview:

The Global Risk Development Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week summer internship that will introduce you to Bank of America and Global Risk Management.  Our goal for summer interns is to have the opportunity to build upon their academic foundation – specifically technical skills, industry knowledge and familiarity with a corporate environment – while pursuing their career based on their interests and background.

Your development is our top priority with on-the-job support, events and mentorship throughout. These opportunities include but are not limited to:

A Day in the Life

Global Risk internships last 10 weeks and give interns a glimpse into the company’s relationships with key regulators as well as how the bank identifies, mitigates, and evaluates risk factors.  As a Summer Analyst, you will be placed on one team where your primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing and maintaining appropriate risk management principles and policies, internal controls and processes designed to identify and mitigate risks
  • Establishing and regularly updating a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, measure, monitor and control all aspects of risk
  • Analyzing and reviewing market movements for front line partners
  • Ensuring that appropriate and effective risk management processes are in place throughout the company
  • Presenting regulatory and reputational advice and findings to senior leaders
  • Networking with risk executives and key stakeholders to cultivate meaningful relationships across various lines of business
  • Promoting a culture across the company where risk management is viewed as vital to achieving responsible growth

Global Risk Opportunities

The Global Risk Summer Analyst Program assigns interns to teams across all seven types of risk. Internship opportunities include positions supporting various business groups, such as the below:

o   Global Compliance and Operational Risk                                 o   Global Markets & Financial Risk 
o   Enterprise Credit Risko   Global Climate Risk
o   Enterprise Independent Testingo   Regulatory Relations, Governance, and Strategy
o   Consumer Banking & Wealth Management Risk 

*Intern team assignments are developed based on business need and aligned to skillset and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications

  • Candidates are required to be pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university. Eligible candidates must have a graduation timeframe between December 2024 and June 2025.
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred
  • Common areas of study include but are not limited to:

o   Mathematics o   Other related fields 
  • Candidates should possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, a drive for operational excellence, and a commitment to achieving sustainable results. Additionally, students should hold strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office as well as show proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem solving & analytical skills, verbal and written communication, and professionalism.
