What we’re looking for (Key Requirements):

  • Recent graduate or final year Bachelor’s / Master’s student available to take up a short internship (ideally during winter semester break) and available to start work full-time in July 2022 (subject to successful internship)
  • Outstanding academic achievement
  • Mathematics, engineering, statistics, or programming background advantageous
  • Strong interest in global financial markets and factors that impact them
  • Candidates must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, strategic and creative thinking, and strong written and oral communications skills
  • Superior analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage several projects at once
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Other desired characteristics include: integrity, attention to detail, assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic and team focus
  • Strong interest in global financial markets and commodities sector and keen interest in complex structures is preferred
  • Knowledge of financial derivatives and global energy markets, in addition to a background in accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or programming background a plus
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in the business you are applying to
  • Fluency in English is essential, appropriate Asian language skills are also essential for some roles and countries
  • For some roles in Global Markets, coding skills are desired but not mandatory. Overview

Our Global Commodities Full-time Analyst opportunity offers you the opportunity to gain work experience with commodity desks including: structuring/origination, sales, oil, natural gas, power, and investor products.

As an analyst in Sales, you will focus on building and maintaining relationships with clients by matching our services to their needs. This includes interaction with portfolio managers, research analysts and traders relaying investment research, relevant market information and marketing ideas; and/or executing transactions as an agent for our clients.

As an analyst in Trading, you will add value in a support role, increasing your knowledge through reading financial publications, shadowing traders, talking to sales and customers, generating and monitoring trade ideas, and more.

Further responsibilities may include:

  • Commodity-related transactions like deal valuation & structuring & participate in internal & external discussion developing structured deal solutions
  • Assisting market strategists and traders to integrate fundamental points of view with trading strategies
  • Developing marketing presentations & models, assimilate historical data & generate reports that create interest in commodities & develop new business
