Job Description & Program Overview

Are you pursuing a quantitative degree you would like to apply to directly impact our customers and clients?

Our Quantitative Intern program, part of our Global Risk organization, focuses on the application of quantitative methods to solve complex business challenges. You will gain in-depth experience and be provided micro and macro views of risk management for the bank.

The internship program is a precursor to the Quantitative Management Analyst Program (QMAP), which is designed to develop and coach analytical and quantitative talent to be deployed throughout various Bank of America business groups.

Your training and development is our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the program in addition to on the job support, educational speaker events and mentorship throughout.

As a summer analyst, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Apply quantitative analysis to business problems and develop solutions specific to your business alignment
  • Research and analysis to provide a micro view of risk management in a particular business line and a macro view of risk management for the bank as a whole
  • Assessing market trends and provide quantitative date for internal partners and ultimately, clients
  • Developing emerging risk assessments, credit risk scenario analysis, as well as modelling in regards to some of our key risk factors

Qualifications

  • Candidates are required to be in their penultimate year pursuing a Masters, PhD or other advanced degree from an accredited college or university
  • Already gained a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent), or working towards a Bachelor’s degree with a view to complete a Masters following the graduation
  • Candidates should have a strong quantitative background in disciplines such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer science, Quantitative Finance and Economics
  • Team-working leadership and problem solving skills are key qualities along with the proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with a variety of people
  • Communicates with Impact: Influences decisions and outcomes through effective communication
  • Has a drive for operational excellence and a commitment to achieving sustainable results
  • Applies critical thinking
  • Demonstrates integrity and ethics by earning other’s trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions
