Job Description & Program Overview 

Our apprentice program starts in September 2023, you will join the Talent Acquisition team in a full-time role whilst studying for a 16-month, Human Resource Support Level 3 Apprenticeship. You’ll spend most of your time working alongside experienced colleagues, learning relevant and valuable skills, contributing to exciting projects and valuable hiring initiatives.  The remainder of your time you’ll follow an established apprenticeship program, graduating with a CIPD Foundation Certificate.

Apprentices evolve during the program based on their career aspirations and depending on how quickly their skills and behaviours develop. We encourage apprentices to take advantage of employee networks, mentorship and all other resources made available to them to accelerate their career.

Successful apprentices will continuously relate what they are learning with their work at Bank of America, as they progress through their apprenticeship. 

As an apprentice, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to: 

  • Supporting key Talent Acquisition partners with our attraction and recruitment strategy
  • Assisting on apprenticeship and diversity programmes and acting as an ambassador at applicable events
  • Reviewing and maintaining recruitment applications documentation (i.e., interview notes) to ensure it is complete and in line with compliance requirements
  • Working with team members, to open new requisitions in our applicant tracking system and reviewing all data for accuracy
  • Assisting with responding to candidate queries in a timely manner
  • Acting as a representative at in-person and virtual events such as: career fairs, panels and corporate presentations
  • Assisting to produce ad hoc recruitment activity reports

  

Essential and desired competencies

  • Show demonstrable evidence of self-learning outside of studies
  • Sound judgement, integrity, and self-confidence with a desire to succeed
  • Display clear motivation for exploring a career in Human Resources
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with a variety of people
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethics by earning other’s trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications

  • Hold or predicted to achieve at least 3 A levels/BTEC or equivalent with a minimum of 104 UCAS points
  • Have at least a grade C or 5 in Maths and English Language GCSE (4 will not be accepted) or equivalent
  • Been a resident of the UK for the past 3 years
  • Not in full-time education when starting the apprenticeship
  • Have the right to work and remain in the UK indefinitely
  • Spend at least 50% of your working hours in England over the duration of the apprenticeship
  • Have not completed a qualification or apprenticeship at the same level or higher which provided you with substantially the same skills or training as you would gain through this apprenticeship with Bank of America
