Bank of America’s Business Support functions act as internal consultants for our various lines of business by helping the bank achieve its key strategic initiatives and meet our businesses’ goals.  Roles across business support give you the power to own your career and find your own path at the bank.

Based on the wide variety of opportunities across Business Support, roles are available for students pursuing a degree in accounting, business, communications, computer science, finance, engineering, journalism, marketing, mathematics, law, liberal arts, public policy, supply chain management or related fields.  Additionally, internships and 2-year full-time rotational programs are available across these areas of the bank.

  • Chief Financial Officer Group: The Finance Program sits within our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group.  The CFO Group is responsible for the overall financial management of our company, including accounting, balance sheet management, financial planning and analysis, corporate treasury, investor relations, corporate investments and tax.  The CFO Group strives to build a common culture that’s always improving operational soundness and competitiveness by embracing innovation and change. 
  • Corporate Audit: Corporate Audit maintains independence and objectivity by reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. Corporate Audit teammates cover all areas of the corporation, performing validation of the company’s risk management activities through testing of key processes and controls across the company. Corporate Audit provides risk-based advice and counsel to management to help develop and maintain an appropriate customer-focused risk management culture that supports the Corporation's business objectives.
  • Global Human Resources: Global Human Resources is responsible for the bank’s strategy to attract, develop, reward, and retain our employees.  This infrastructure helps our businesses meet their strategic objectives as well as to make Bank of America a best-in-class workplace and experience for our employees. 
  • Global Procurement: Our Global Procurement organization is responsible for sourcing, global purchasing, category procurement strategies, operations, and the establishment of a third party oversight and governance framework for Bank of America.   Guided by a business-aligned strategy, enabled by technology and centered on a process and control framework, Global Procurement delivers third party value for the enterprise.
  • Global Risk: Global Risk manages the bank’s seven types of risk – strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, and reputational risk.  The goal of this function is to review, discuss, and identify potential risks as well as develop strategies for the bank to meet its objectives while protecting our people, clients, customers, and assets. 
  • Marketing & Communications, ESG & Public Policy: This program introduces the students to Bank of America and the Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs organization, including Corporate Communications, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Marketing and Public Policy. These functions have critical roles such as managing our communications with internal and external parties, developing strategies to cultivate interest in the bank and our services, managing and promoting our green and social initiatives, and managing relationships with the government.
  • Operations: Global Technology & Operations (GT&O) provides end-to-end technology and fulfillment to individual consumers, small businesses, middle-market businesses and large corporations. Globally, GT&O manages the critical systems and multiple platforms needed to maintain the enterprise’s market-leading positions in key segments, including deposits, payment products, consumer lending, wealth management, small business and middle-market lending, treasury services, investment banking, and sales and trading.

Qualifications: Candidates are required to be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation timeframe between December 2021 and June 2022. Students with accepted Summer Analyst 2020 internship offers at Bank of America are not eligible to apply.
